A Love letter to my Highest Self
I used to feel like choosing myself was selfish —
a luxury only a few get to have.
Unknowingly, I was being insensitive to my own needs.
my authority,
and my design.
Until I learned how to take my power back
and live a life of abundance.
Thanks to those who were a guiding light
in the darkest tunnel —
You brought me back home to me.
What I Used to Call Love Was Actually Self-Abandonment
I used to say yes when I meant no.
I used to apologise only to maintain the peace.
I used to shrink to make others comfortable —
even if it meant swallowing my voice.
I bottled my emotions until they burst
just to prove I was okay.
I waited for permission to evolve.
I thought tolerance was a badge of honour.
Now I know:
Clarity is.
When I Started Choosing Myself, Everything Changed
Every cell, every vein in my body whispered:
“Sakshi, this is where you were always meant to be.”
I redecorated my space —
not for trends, not for aesthetics,
but to reflect the way I feel inside.
I upgraded my wardrobe —
not for validation, approval, or compliments,
but to mirror the elegance of my energy.
I left rooms, roles, and relationships
that didn’t feel safe in their silence.
I invested in myself —
again and again.
My time, my energy, my resources —
none of it replaceable.
And finally,
I believed I was worth it —
regardless of how anyone perceived me.
This Isn’t About Being Perfect. It’s About Being Honest.
People called it attitude.
I called it alignment.
They said I was cold.
But really —
I just stopped apologising.
I stopped being accessible to everyone.
I know now:
My energy is a privilege.
I don’t need to be understood
or liked
to live in truth.
And I don’t need to be easy
to be loveable.
If you’re reading this and thinking:
“It’s easy for her to say.”
Let me tell you — it’s not.
But it is worth it.
It’s not difficult because it’s impossible.
It’s tough because we were conditioned otherwise.
You don’t owe your life
to your family, your colleagues, your partner, or your friends.
It has always belonged
to you.
And you owe it
to your highest, most anchored self.
This is what it looks like when I choose me.
It looks like peace.
It feels like freedom.
And it’s the most sacred thing I’ve ever done.
If I can come home to myself,
after everything
So can you.
